To develop the WAGRIC Master Plan, a future vision of the WAGRIC countries is established. Though no specific official documents exist, the following statement of the future vision of the WAGRIC O countries has been drawn from the official documents of the WAEMU and ECOWAS, and those of the African Union 3:
« Through subregional economic and spatial integration, the WAGRIC subregion must have a competitive economy, attract investment in economic sectors and achieve inclusive and sustainable development »
